Some other interesting results, with Miezis only drawing with white against Oliver Jackson, and Keith beating Martin Brown (who held him recently at Heywood)
Any postings on here represent my personal views

Can i get a penny for each time Keith Arkell wins an ending? I want to be a millionaire, but I'm not having much luck with lottery tickets

You'd have won 2p so far.

In round 4 Radulski beat Miezis in the clash of the top 2 seeds.

By the way, check out Jack's round 3 game if you want some entertainment. At one point he had 2 Bishops and 5 pawns for a R+N+N !

Round 2, actually - the win against Chris Gibson.

As the site has gone quiet I guess I could give an update.Things finished thus:

1 GM Radulski 2539 8/9

2 GM Arkell 2521 7

3-5 GM Miezis 2572 6.5
IM Petrovic 2479
IM Marusenko 2323

6 IM Rudd 2326 6

Rainy,hilly,friendly.

In an innocuous position, after I had just chalked up 2 out of 3 off seeds 1,2 and 4(I was seeded 3),Oliver Jackson said to me '' what do you need to score from this game'' .I'm not sure whether this was a tacit draw offer, but I replied '2 points''.Actually 2.5 would have been more accurate!

And to Ben Edgell, you win 5p because I won 5 endings. My other win was a mating attack against Alan Byron in a game in which nothing got exchanged until move 18.

Apologies if this reads a bit me me me, but obviously others are welcome to give their perspective...

I will be doing a report on this event. Any games that have particularly struck people's attention, let me know - I may annotate them.

Hi Jack - great game v Gibson.

Had to share with it RHP users.

Also this enables the lazy chess players to see the game without them having
to dig it out for themselves.
