A suggestion, have a local competition to qualify for the Brit championship, instead of county championship, or even horror of horrors, only county first and seconds qualify.

So sorry I forgot self interest rules.

Them and us seems to rule a planet, despite all the scientific evidence that, whether we want to be or not, we are all cousins.

Isn't it. I wouldn't expect any further moves.

...though I would expect wrong.

Futile, though.

OK, I think this takes the prize for the worst suggestion for the qualification rules so far. Congratulations.

Howell needs to win tomorrow to equal the Championship record of 10/11.

Moreover, whatever one thinks of the strength of the event overall, no-one can say that he hasn't played a demanding field.

Indeed, a very impressive performance. No-one else in the field has looked remotely close to challenging David. His TPR after round 10 is over 200 points higher than the next best. Congratulations!

A performance beyond 2800 is definitely an impressive result, more than 150 points above his own rating.
If anything, I would not have expected 4 players still unbeaten after 10 rounds. There should be a special trophy for Gormally for not a single draw, hopefully he wont ruin the score on the last round.

It's worth noting that Rudd, Tavares and Fernandez are also drawless.
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

Indeed so. Even tougher than 2009?

I enjoyed your game today Jack - well played!

...b6 looked very mysterious until ..a6 and ..Ra7 were played. Was this the idea when played?
