I think Jones has misplayed that position after Bc1.
In hebden-Howell I thought 26.b3 initially, but wondered if 26...Qb2 was good for black?

I doubt he'd have enough for the pawn he'd give up, but any any rate Hebden seems to agree with you!

According to my database 26.Qc2 was played in Krush v Becerra Rivero when Krush won

Little dissapointed Si Williams didnt punt the dutch today. Given Pallister's wrote at least one book on white openings with d4 it would've been an interesting theoretical battle. Although maybe the Dutch isn't a particularly good opening to play against a well prepared opponent.

nah the dutch is suspect that why nobody at 2700 level will play it! Si Williams looks in trouble to me against Pallister.

Fritz gives Hebden a +1.59 score after that Qd5 move. If the theory ended at 25. f3, Howell seems to just not have known how to progress after that. He has spent more than an hour on the last half a dozen moves or so, and he's struggled. Very strange...
