Good game so far, apart from Owen "The Dirty C*nt" Farrell's armless late tackle. The giant Welsh centre's had better skill than the giant English one's on the evidence of the present game. Mike Brown is a fabulous player, though. Ireland should stop kicking to him. That's anywhere within 30 metres!

Good game, shame about the result!

Poor second half by Jonny Sexton.

Fabulous game. As good as I can remember in the 6-Nations. Huge credit to both teams. Good conditions for playing with ball in hand. And both teams turned up with that in mind. Great!

Nearly a perfect afternoon. But alas, Andrew Paulson hasn't yet fvcked off

And now the blighters win the Women's 6 Nations game, too! Ireland's women did the GS last year. No such luck this time.

Six Nations rugby

Post by Christopher Kreuzer » Sun Mar 09, 2014 5:39 pm

Rugby's over, isn't it time for the "in BOD we trust" crowd to pipe up about the prospects for next weekend? Amazing international career for Brian O'Driscoll. Would be great for him to go out with a Six Nations title. But someone pointed out that Ireland haven't won away in France for 40 years or something silly (is that really true?). Good show by England as well to claim the Triple Crown.

No, Ireland last beat France in a six nations away match in 2000

More recently, they drew in France in 2012

Can anyone explain the difference between 'Six Nations rugby' and '6 Nations'?

Thanks, Clive. I clearly misheard "14" as "40".

And, did you not see that someone had already started a book on the same topic but with a less explicit name?

What? You aren't making much sense, John...

PS. for the BOD comment, see this earlier thread:

Thanks, John. If you had said 'thread' or 'topic' instead of 'book', I would have understood.

The "in BOD we trust" crowd are keeping their gobs firmly shut and fingers crossed. Wouldn't want to jinx the game before it started. Just let's say we don't have particularly great expectations and see the Irish team as firm underdogs in Paris.
the Irish team as firm underdogs in Paris.
Piffwibble (and, for avoidance of doubt, bo££ocks)

The French were appalling against Scotland; fluked a win v. England too. By contrast, the Irish pulped Wales; and narrowly lost to a good England team. They've played excellent rugby this year.

Result in Paris? Ireland by 15 points & the title. BOD deserves it - not least as reward for the hideous cynical 'spearing' he received at the start of the 2009 NZ-Lions tour.
