Central London League

Post by James Toon » Sat Jun 07, 2014 12:01 pm

The Central London League has completed its 3rd season. Rangers won Division 1, and Pimlico 2 won Division 2.

The purpose of this post is to publicise the League and invite team entries for next season. As before, there will be an open Division 1 and a grade-limited Division 2 (max 175), for teams of 5 boards. If there is enough interest we will also run a grade-limited Division 3 (max 145), for teams of 4 boards.

The deadline for team entries is 30 June, and fixtures will be published in the first half of July.

In the Central London League, all matches are played at a venue within tube zone 1 and all matches finish on the night - no adjudications or no adjournments. The time control is 75 minutes for the game plus 15 seconds a move from the start.

The league is informal and non-bureaucratic in spirit. We keep rules and costs to a minimum. We charge £20 per team per match to use the central (Pimlico) venue as their home venue – this is available on Thursday evenings. Also we recover the game fee cost from clubs for their non-ECF members. Apart from that there are no costs.

Players who do not have a team of their own are welcome to play for one of the existing teams. There are no eligibility restrictions.
