British Championship. The stats and of course Crippen.

Post by Geoff Chandler » Sun Aug 09, 2009 2:31 pm

White won 149 - Black won 149 and 120 games were drawn.

There were 6114 Knights moves...for more of this utter nonsense,
plus pics, games, blunders and of course Crippen.

Why do people write "Pallister", it's Richard Palliser, please.

That is because they are idiots - fixed.

My spell checker changed Palliser to Pallister. (I must have Pallister
on a previous Corner).

I know it's a common chess mistake like Hartson instead of Hartston.

Well done Geoff. Now when I am in the Waitrose queue, I shall be able to recommend Chandler Cornered.

Sorry Geoff for being so grumpy. I've enjoyed your lighthearted commentary throughout the championship. You just got caught in the backwash...
Paul.

Forget it - I never take offence at anything a chess player says,
glad someone pointed it out.

But somewhere is a previous Corner there must be a Pallister.
(So where were you then?) :)

Famous footballers syndrome? Gary and John have a lot to answer for. Given his current medical state, John's tribunal can wait a while.

So Gawain has fallen off the twig again - but it's no sort of preparation playing a weak 11 round swiss and then travelling

Apologies - Gawain still playing. My version gave me Qc4 rather than the obvious (now I've been told) ab6
