John, you are right, I've switched to TWIC live games so no engine assessments - trouble is I don't trust my chess judgement anymore
I would be happy with white on both boards, but more than capable of losing both
EDIT the welcome clattering of wickets at OT isn't helping my concentration

David seems to have survived the worst and the machines show a kind of fortress, where the two knights combine to prevent the White King getting in ... but he also seems to only have the increment to play on for the rest of the game ... I suspect allowing a perpetual a few hours ago would have been an easier way to make a half.
Great performances by Jones and Sadler though, given the circumstances around them.

Hilarious - Howell now winning and 3-1 England. 3-1 or even 3.5-0.5 Canada was perfectly possible earlier. Experience tells in the end.

I take it all back - taking the perpetual would have cost David half-a-point, it seems he is now winning.

But Paul - he was lost through most of the first time scramble!

Only evaluation that matters is the one at the end of the game John ! ... not good for the nerves of the spectators though. I strongly suspect that some of Matthew's decisions were taken in the expectation that David would lose, hence we'd need a win on 4 to win the match.

Flip me ... we were looking like we'd lose convincingly to Canada. India were 1 wicket down. I went out and dug the garden ... 7 wickets fell (Oh, 8 now) and some very odd things happened in the chess.
Virtue triumphs again.
Now just watching young Liam Broady in the tennis in USA.
Normal service resumed with Stockport County losing at home in the the first match of the season.

Outcome excellent - performance very average. What do you do tomorrow. I suspect that Nigel will replace Matthew and he will no doubt do something that will stop us all writing him off.

Big win in the Women's section for Russia. The star signing Lagno beginning to pay off her big money transfer fee.

I would keep the same team tomorrow assuming Sadler still wants to play as he has been so far.
