AGM
Re: AGM
HLVPs for Andrew Farthing and John Wickham approved by acclamation.
The counting is still proceeding.
Now onto Alex Holowczak's proposal on adjudications. Alex has nothing to add to his paper, but I suspect that there will be a number of comments and questions from the floor. Stewart Reuben is proposing an amendment to the motion to add "except in exceptional circumstances", with disabled players, for example, in mind.

Re: AGM
I struggle to understand the disabled players issue. We've had quickplay finishes in tournaments for over forty years, as Stewart is always reminding us. I cannot recall in that time any special treatment being requested for disabled players that they should be exempt from the normal time controls, so why should leagues offer different rules?John Philpott wrote: Stewart Reuben is proposing an amendment to the motion to add "except in exceptional circumstances", with disabled players, for example, in mind.
Re: AGM
Code of conduct and complaints policy both noted.
In the meantime, HLVP awards, President's award and Magazine of the year award were presented by Dominic Lawson. In addition to the three President's awards announced in the meeting papers, the Board had decided to make an additional President's award to Roger Edwards.
Game Fee discussion item rolled on to the next meeting.
There being no other business, the meeting was declared closed at 18.20, following a round of applause for Julie's chairing.
All thanks gratefully accepted! Thank goodness for the concept of copy and paste.

Re: AGM
Stewart held the proxy for the London League. The LL allows a blind player the option of adjudication. The LL will not change its rule. If the amendment had not been accepted by the Director of Home Chess, Stewart had been mandated to vote against the proposal. As it was he needn't have bothered, the local automy argument prevailed.Roger de Coverly wrote:I struggle to understand the disabled players issue.
