It’s more usual to attack the bishop on g6 with a h4, h5 push in that line and only offering the trade with Bd3 after black had played h6 (so he can’t recapture with the h pawn and is probably forced into taking on d3 himself. White can then try and do something against the weak f7 square :D

I played quite a nice game in this line last year, against up and comer Becky Kearton, you will find it on Youtube - just ignore the bit at the end where I say “I’ve no idea why she went mad here and sacked the Rook” - She was loosing her Queen if not :lol:
