As you know the experts in the ECF are looking at this but propose to leave us in the dark by keeping the answer and the assumptions to themselves.

The current software is still calculating how many watts can be added to the light bulb before it explodes and covers everyone with bits of glassE Michael White wrote:As you know the experts in the ECF are looking at this but propose to leave us in the dark by keeping the answer and the assumptions to themselves.

Not sure, but you can guarantee that after it's done there'll be someone along to point out how they missed a quicker way!How many chess players does it take to change a light bulb?

Should it be long life or standard?
Should it be low wattage (cheaper) or high wattage (better light to see the board)?
Should the fitting be changed to take a florescent tube?
Time to set up a light bulb subcommittee!

Nappies are generally easier than light bulbs - mainly because the baby is not on the ceiling.

Light bulbs don't scream and kick you in the face, though.
Mmmm ... has anything happened / not happened to trigger this thread, Gavin?

Yep Jon I have been trawling through too many chess meetings and have another this Thursday having come back from holiday which involved looking after my sisters kids as well as my own one
http://www.monroi.com/chess-info/44-in/ ... jokes.html is the answer.
If only chess players did some research they would become better players....... Anyone interested in Bobby Fischer's book collection? - looked interesting reading in New in Chess as well as Noshers wins (like the style!)

One player complains about the lack of lighting to his team captain.
The team captain raises the matter with the opponent's team captain.
An arbiter present decides that he does not have the power to order a change in lighting situation.
The disputes committee (three members) is convened decides that there is in fact such a power.
The tallest member of the home team stands on table to install bulb.
His opponent hears beep from installer's mobile phone and registers a complaint.
The man on table with lightbulb explains that he has switched on phone for its torch.
Matter goes to appeal with a differently constituted disputes committee.
Committee decides that tall man with lightbulb has forfeited game.
Tall man throws lightbulb out window and all the other lightbulbs.
Nobody can see anything in the dark.
A splash is heard.
Home team secretary strikes a match and lights candles.
Tall man has disappeared.
Finally, play proceeds happily minus one board.
Candles gradually extinguish.

Re: How many chess players does it take to change a light bu
I was going to say ten.
One to change the lightbulb, and nine to argue about the compulsory membership scheme.
...Or indeed about anything to do with chess other than playing it, really.

I don't know the answer to this one but I feel that it must depend on the the bulb's rating.Gavin Strachan wrote:How many chess players does it take to change a light bulb?
