In other news, England 66/4 chasing 99 to win with bad light likely to stop play very soon.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

It was starting to look like being something of a slog through Officers' report. Questions on various aspects of the Chief Executive's report led to that taking about ten minutes more than the Chairman was planning: this was approved with some dissent on a show of hands. The time was not made up on the Finance Director's report, but the Home Director's report was covered with commendable speed.

Spot on!

Meanwhile back at the Euston Square Hotel, Richard Haddrell is voting against each of the reports because he does not understand what is meant by approving an Officer's report.

Honest question of the day

Do you think the extra increased in membership fees is the reason we have lost members

As Financial Controller I am reasonably confident that this is not the case.

We eventually got through officers' reports, and have held the BCF AGM. The significant item of business there was the approval of the appointment of Dr John Higgs as a Trustee of the John Robinson Youth Chess Trust.

Personally I blame the Commercial Director! How will this look to sponsors?
