Svidler-Anand drawn, so it's all up to Caruana now

Bizarrely I am now getting the German commentary on Chess24. I'd be all right if it was the Spanish...

I'm now getting English commentary again... just in time after Karjakin has played e5.

Gustafsson is saying that they're both in time trouble. They're not, really.

No idea about the offical co commentator (I think I saw Dylan McClain just now) but he doesn't seem terribly objectionable to me? The Russian(?) person they had for the earlier rounds was very good mind.

Press conferences great and all, but it is a little bit annoying to have the main bit of the critical game littered with them/ad break/whatever :) At least they're getting the finish.

Oh, Giri doesn't seem to mind as long as people are good natured about it. Not universal that it seems.

I have absolutely no idea, just find it odd and would like to know where and to whom he is claimed to have said it.

My God, the man is an utter moron. Talking about how at least the tie-break system hasn't been decisive.

So why are we being subjected to FM Dylan Maclain from the USA? It's not like there aren't people who can do this job competently.

Because AGON hired him some time last year in order to head up their media operations (or whatever the phrase might be).

I know not everybody here or elsewhere will be delighted at that, but he was probably the best player overall and performed impressively.

He did not let his one setback (against Anand) faze him.

Meanwhile, I suspect Fab will be kicking himself about failing to put away the tournament bunny not once but twice, for some time to come.

Oh, and you know who was the only undefeated player
