As a pure Celt myself, with not a drop of Anglo-Saxon blood (as far as I know), so am I.
Maybe not as regards the rugby though.

Re: Euro 2016
I watch with the sound off if possible - I used to listen to Radio 5 Live but my digital radio seems to be half a minute ahead of the pictures - it was ok with the Welsh match being on BBC, as I can then opt for the radio commentaryMike Truran wrote:Is it just me, but are there better ways of spending a couple of hours than listening to Glenn Hoddle talking English (Jim, but not as we know it) and watching England do what they do best?
I liked the "we didn't win the first game in 1966, 1990 or 1996" bit
Well done Wales, delighted for them, hope Northern Ireland do well too

Re: Euro 2016
In 1990 and 1996 I really did have something better to do, but my recollection of 1966 is that the first game against Uruguay was awful and the commentators were not slow to say that England would have to improve a great deal.Mick Norris wrote: I liked the "we didn't win the first game in 1966, 1990 or 1996" bit

The approved way of following test match cricket was to watch with the sound off whilst listening to TMS - unfortunately digital radio ruined that too.

Whenever I see the words 'England manager Hodgson', I keep expecting England to play the Trompwsky.

It might encourage him to support chess. The likelihood of a Welsh chess team defeating Russia is 1 to 1 and lots of zeros.Matt Mackenzie wrote:Putin will probably have a nice gulag ready for his footballers after that

Lots of problems in Russian football with racism, violence, to say nothing of the political upheavals and doping
Still, at least they won't be hosting the next World Cup, oh, hang on
