Quite interesting in its way though, the backwards-diagonal move being reputedly the hardest kind to spot. Plus the king having previously covered the move - horribly easy to imagine making the same mistake.

Felt sorry for Oskar Hackner yesterday, looked like he was close to winning against Peter Wells. Then he tried to "clarify" the situation to make it easier to play and lost. If I had a pound for every time I've done that.....

Oh dear. Just looked at the game. Do you mean 48.Ree7 and the combination leading up to taking the knight on g3? The position should have been drawn and the real blunder seems to be 54.g4. Had to look at the game on Chessbomb. Is there no replay facility for earlier rounds on the official website (I understand the need to get the basics right first!)?

The chessbomb stockfish engine will red ink dodgy moves, which has some interest when it's your own game.

Live coverage of the lower boards of the British was sacrificed in the interests of recording the Under-9s. Nevertheless, they've got my game from yesterday.
Not terribly exciting unless you like Zugswang themed endings.

Fiddlesticks and flapdoodle. There are only 32 live boards here, and the British and the Under-9s have had no clashing rounds.

Last year, you could use chess-results for the pgn download. I suspect the feature allowing individual play through might be newish.
