Hoogeveen 15-22 October 2016
The 20th Hoogeveen tournament starts in the Netherlands on Saturday and this year features a six game match between Hou Yifan and Nigel Short which should prove interesting. http://hoogeveenchess.nl/en/20th-hoogev ... ament-2016

My money is on Short for that one. No English players at all in the Open so far which is surprising. Indian GMs make up the top 3 seeds.

Quite a few of the Indians playing there were also playing in Douglas last week.

ChessBase preview of the Hoogeveen tournament with photos of Nigel Short and Hou Yifan and Nigel's tweet to Hou Yifan:
"#AskYifan @ChessBase Are you going to beat that useless old English git?"
With the response:
"What is a "git"?"

Draw. Interesting article here on the opening ceremony and how they saved this tournament from extinction, plus the Corps 32 idea which may become a template for saving future tournaments, Van Wely playing a simul at the refugee centre and Nigel Short clarified that he had written in New In Chess that ‘men on average play better than women. Hou Yifan is not average. I can also say that younger players are better on average than older players. I am the only player above 50 in the top-100. In any case – no doubt there will be jubilation if I lose this match, but I’ll do my best.’

Analysis of the game 3 game that Nigel won. It's not a complete game score and Nigel said on social media that the final comment is misplaced as it refers to a later ...Rc2. If you want to see the rest of the moves then use Tim's link above. Also have a look at the Ivan-Sokolov-Van Foreest game 3 in what is turning out to be a sensational match.

Short wins the last game with Black for a 3-1 triumph overall.
A genuinely impressive achievement, it does seem to confirm Hou has hit a bit of a "wall" recently however.
