I have started the process of restoring to health the Hampshire Junior Chess Association (HJCA).
To that end I am building a network of contacts of who does what right now and who might to do something in the future.
I would say that Nick Pert and myself are on track to launch HJCA for September 2017 with team trials, selection event, entries to ESPCA and other junior county events.
I am in the process of creating a new web site for HJCA which is at
http://www.hjca.org.uk/
If you wish to make a contribution then I'm sure it will be very welcome.
All the best,
John

John,
Best wishes for your efforts.
If you'll excuse a bit of brazen opportunism on my part .... Although Hampshire are not currently affiliated to the SCCU as a County Member, Hampshire Juniors would be very welcome to affiliate as a Non-County Member and participate in our junior events.

Julie,
That is very kind of you. I'm sure HJCA will take this opportunity : what do we need to do ?

Re: Hampshire Junior Chess Association
John,
We'd need a formal application to affiliate not later than the end of May, which would be voted on at our AGM in early / mid July (final date to be confirmed). There's an affiliation fee of I believe £20 if paid by 1st December, otherwise £25 (subject to this not changing at this year's AGM). There are then team entry fees to cover expenses in our events. Details can be found on our website http://www.sccu-chess.com/archive/1516/index.htm or https://sccu-chess.com/index.php/en/ (Bit of a state off flux at the moment as we're migrating from the original site established by Richard Haddrell and a new site.)
