There was an event in Douglas that took priority for the live boards.

Nice to see Danny doing so well. I hope he is following his own widely publicised advice and not drinking much this evening.

Although shown on the ECF grading site with a FIDE code, a lookup on the FIDE site refers you back to the National Federation.Mick Norris wrote:[Black "Poulton, J"]
I happen to know why, but I had thought that particular piece of ECF vindictiveness had been abolished.

I noticed that too. It could date back years, he last played 4NCL in 2010-11 although without being able to view his rating profile it's difficult to tell. Alternatively it could have been when he played at Kings Place in July 2017 or 2013.Roger de Coverly wrote:Although shown on the ECF grading site with a FIDE code, a lookup on the FIDE site refers you back to the National Federation.Mick Norris wrote:[Black "Poulton, J"]

It has, but not all former victims have yet been reinstated.Roger de Coverly wrote:I happen to know why, but I had thought that particular piece of ECF vindictiveness had been abolished.
I have said many times that it's more a problem for organisers and arbiters than for affected players themselves.

2.3 NCFs have the right to declare that a player is no longer representing their Federation. A player can be delisted by FIDE upon a decision of the Board of the National Federation, mailed to FIDE Secretariat, explaining clearly the reasons of their decision. FIDE Presidential Board shall decide if the reasons are sufficient and confirm a player being delisted.
2.4 Whenever a NCF delists and subsequently re-lists a player, the NCF shall pay FIDE a fee of 25 euros.

That applies only in cases where the original de-listing took place after the rule came into force.LawrenceCooper wrote: 2.4 Whenever a NCF delists and subsequently re-lists a player, the NCF shall pay FIDE a fee of 25 euros.

So it may, or may not, apply in this case.NickFaulks wrote:That applies only in cases where the original de-listing took place after the rule came into force.LawrenceCooper wrote: 2.4 Whenever a NCF delists and subsequently re-lists a player, the NCF shall pay FIDE a fee of 25 euros.
