Media Chess Comment Blunders

Post by Michael Farthing » Fri Feb 16, 2018 7:56 am

Whenever a chess board appears in a picture or cartoon in the media we are quick to notice if the board is set up incorretly. But today I noticed an even worse sin committed by someone who should know better! Look at the top left corner of your screens everyone! :-(

Does this mean we have to transfer all our posts to a correctly set up forum?

'if the board is set up incorretly' is this the blunder you are referring to?

I can't believe that has always been there. Surely it is the result of a recent update.

Maybe to some that board is correct.

They could have Chessboard Dyslexia where they see the light
squares as dark squares and the dark squares as light squares.

Just some of the films where the director appears to suffer from this are:

'What's New Pussycat'

I read somewhere that Woody Allen did this on purpose so at least sad chess
players (that's me....and you reading this) would write about the film.

'The Da Vinci Code'
Obviously done on purpose as part of a deep masonic plot.

And the much overrated 'The Seventh Seal'.

This film is slow, boring and just naff.
The mistake fits in perfectly with the whole film.
