Re: ECF U18 County Championships 2018
Various counties have expressed interest in entering though few have entered so far.
It should be noted that for entries received after 1st February 2018 there is an added charge of £20 per team.

Pleasingly, I've found someone to run a Warwickshire team on the day while I'm at BUCA, so now I just have the task of getting a team of 12 together.Neill Cooper wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2018 9:18 pmVarious counties have expressed interest in entering though few have entered so far.

Re: ECF U18 County Championships 2018
Hertfordshire County Junior Teams are being entered by Hertfordshire Schools Chess Association (HSCA). This year Roger has been of great assistance in promoting the ECF U18 tournament at his club and as a result we are able to field a team in both sections.
If at all possible Herts will try and locate a suitable venue, but without having any secondary school teachers to turn to it is not easy to find one.
The enormous 2013 event which we hosted at Haberdashers Askes School, including u13 sections, was a fantastic event organised by previous HSCA chairman, Yogesh Jina.
I don't think we currently have sufficient resources to be able to repeat something on that scale.

Re: ECF U18 County Championships 2018
I found a venue in Solihull for EPSCA Under 11 Final late last year. It's now also being used for the EPSCA Under 9s and the UKCC Midlands Gigafinal. So maybe I can help in 2019...John Reyes wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:56 ammaybe you need to try Manchester or somewhere in Birmingham to run it next year?

Re: ECF U18 County Championships 2018
Apparently Kings School, Grantham, did not charge for the venue. The school also ran the snack bar with a selection of hot snacks (pizza, panini, cornish pasties) and drinks.
A well run event.
Open: 1. Kent (16.5pts), 2. Sussex (16pts), 3. Surrey (15pts), 4. Herts (9.5pts), 5.= Leics, Suffolk (7.5pts).
Haberdashers took the school team trophy (total of 4 best players scores).
Roundwood Park, Harpenden, scored 3.5/4 (brother & sister on boards 1 & 5)
