Thanks. The author seems to repeatedly use side to mean flank.

In a chess sense, pretty much - you have surely heard of "flank openings"?

Are you sure that is exactly what is said? In any event, it means that [...] would not bring great additional benefit for White

Yes - that's how I take it ... if white were trying to win, then [...] would not lead necessarily to a winning advantage

What does objectively mean in
we should not embrace Plan B ( 10 points), although objectively it doesn't change the position's evaluation too much.
And What's the need for it?
