50. ... d3 and surely now there aren't enough pawns left for a decisive result?
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

Not as exciting an event without you playing Loz

Not really wanting to intrude on his grief too much, but Svidler lost again yesterday (with White, again - and from a won position, again)
Finally a win for him today though :D

With Howell and Carlsen drawing and Grandelius winning, their team (Valerenga Sjakklubb) will win their match. The top pairing was drawn. So Carlsen (and Howell's) team are leading the event with one round to go. Though another tough pairing probably (from one of Obiettivo Risarcimento Padova, Mednyi Vsadnik St.Petersburg or Itaka; board ones of Wang Hao, Svidler and Indjic).

Looks like Svidler - Carlsen then

Long way to go for Blackthorne to get both Grantham & White Rose

The "Real" European club cup would be cool. You must have played so many games for the team in a local league. Meaningless collections of mercenaries outlawed.

Can anyone confirm whether a loss by Carlsen (e.g. if he needs to try and win due to the match situation) would see him drop below Caruana? I think a draw or win keep Carlsen as number one.

Ding Liren should be able to keep his run going. Does anyone know what his next events are?

What tie-breaks are being used in this event?

Nick this one is much cooler...anyone who thinks the above is entitled to this idea but the fact is.

We love to play the best players and this ensures that.
We love that this tournament supports chess as a profession for both Female and Male players.

You lads seem quite focussed when my players mess up high computer evals and less positives when you have 2 English teams on the top 10 boards.
I love sleep, I need 8 hours a day and about 10 at night - Bill Hicks
I would die happy if I beat Wood Green in the Eastman Cup final - Richmond LL captain.
