Yes, that was the only example I could think of. It's not exactly Rochester Royals -> Cincinnati Royals -> Kansas City-Omaha Kings -> Kansas City Kings -> Sacramento Kings.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 11:19 amYou still don't want to get an old Wimbledon FC fan started on MK Dons.Alex Holowczak wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 10:59 amThe franchise model actually seems to offer greater protection for keeping teams afloat, even if there is a much greater threat of franchises relocating to achieve that than in the football league system.

True - at one point, owners of Leeds United were thinking of relocating to Kent on the basis that they would get bigger crowds, especially as there weren't any proper teams in Kent. Fans and enemies were united in their fury!

Bury are the first league club to be expunged since Aldershot and Maidstone went in fairly quick succession back in 1992.
Re the above posts, there was a bizarre last minute attempt to save the latter by relocating to Tyneside.

As a real live 'old' Wimbledon FC fan I can second what Nick says. The franchise model will never be acceptable to football fans in England, although it might make commercial sense for some club owners. The irony is that MK Dons are in the same place in the League as the old Wimbledon in their last year. But at least the town of Milton Keynes got a shiny new ASDA store, and the people of Merton are about to get a shiny new football ground.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 11:19 amYou still don't want to get an old Wimbledon FC fan started on MK Dons.Alex Holowczak wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 10:59 amThe franchise model actually seems to offer greater protection for keeping teams afloat, even if there is a much greater threat of franchises relocating to achieve that than in the football league system.

Quillan
Kirkwood was handed a 10-year ban, while Quillan and Garrett both received 12-year disqualification orders.
Alex Deane, chief investigator for the Insolvency Service, said: "None of the directors expressed any real regret for deliberately misleading people who were mainly small pension investors, and who were targeted because they were unable to get credit and required cash.

Is that banned from being a director of any Company?Passing judgement at the Manchester High Court on September 18, District Judge Obodai found the directors had misled investors and deliberately caused the companies to obscure the relationship they had with each other, calling the scheme a “house of cards”.

LOL, presumably they had heard that Leeds Castle was in Kent. [There's a nearby village, also named Leeds].Kevin Thurlow wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 12:31 pm"You still don't want to get an old Wimbledon FC fan started on MK Dons. "

Presumably so. I think the only other relevant disqualification would have barred them from acting as pension fund trustees.Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 10:48 pmIs that banned from being a director of any Company?Passing judgement at the Manchester High Court on September 18, District Judge Obodai found the directors had misled investors and deliberately caused the companies to obscure the relationship they had with each other, calling the scheme a “house of cards”.

While the three directors profited considerably from the scheme, they seem to have gained far less than the investors lost. The tax authorities presumably ended up with the difference.Mick Norris wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 10:34 pmQuillan

On what basis? The company is essentially dead as it was dissolved on 28 May this year.Matt Bridgeman wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 8:43 amI wonder if Simon Williams' SKW Investments Ltd could have a court case lining up? If Williams was banned from
