There's an odd number, thus creating a bye every round.
A solution to this has been found.

Haha! I wonder whether the day will comer when ageism is taken as seriously as sexism? Imagine the furore if an event invited all the best boys but ignored the girls of the same or stronger playing strength!

Louise Head is the addition.

The FIDE ratings appear to be wrong.

Are those converted ratings? The table says 'IRtg', but the note at the bottom says "FIDE Ratings are at 1st November 2019".

At the link Alex gave compare the ratings there with the ratings given previously in this thread (given here in bold):

GM Fernandez, Daniel Howard 2401 ENG (2444)
IM Clarke, Brandon G I 2380 ENG (2431)
IM Merry, Alan B 2338 ENG (2426)
IM Haria, Ravi 2321 ENG (2451)
FM Harvey, Marcus R 2321 ENG (2405)
IM McPhillips, Joseph 2288 ENG (2434)
IM Horton, Andrew P 2272 ENG (2378)
WGM Toma, Katarzyna 2267 ENG (2272)
FM Claridge-Hansen, William 2203 ENG (2290)
IM Wadsworth, Matthew J 2185 ENG (2401)
Pein, Jonathan 2158 ENG (2151)
FM Willow, Jonah B 2102 ENG (2345)
IM Taylor, Adam C 2077 ENG (2371)
FM Golding, Alex 1999 ENG (2306)
FM Kalaiyalahan, Akshaya 1910 ENG (2154)
WFM Head, Louise 1813 ENG (n/a)

Rapid ratings I would think. The qualifier is after all a rapidplay tournament.

Oh, so one list was standardplay ratings (published in error?) and the other was rapidplay ratings?

The rapid ratings for this group of up and comings are an average 142 points below their standard ratings, so the tournament will serve to maintain this deflationary syndrome.

I think this shows the urgent need for Fide rapid and blitz ratings to have a K=40 stage like the one that already exists for classical ratings, and for the ECF delegate to Fide and others with influence (including members of this Forum) w to campaign actively for such a change.

Er, yes. Young Keith makes a good point.

Well, that was my logic when asked to set the file up...

The main reason why Rapid ratings tend to be lower than Standard is that the players in this group tend to play less FIDE Rapid chess than they do FIDE Standard chess. In particular, as they have improved their FIDE rating has improved with it, while their Rapid rating hasn't because they haven't played as much of it during that phase. This phenomenon commonly observed with some notable Indian juniors.

Regular readers of answers about the foibles of the FIDE rating system will recall this point also being made in the traditional FIDE rating v ECF grade debate. It's the same issue, manifested in a different way.

k factors in Blitz and Rapid are already on the radar. If only FIDE would annouce the 2019 FIDE Congress so that proposals about a variety of issues could be discussed and voted on.

Alternatively. and even better, games that are played could actually be submitted for rating. I note that, for instance, the recent British Rapidplay has not been. As I have said before, the FIDE rating system is intended to operate well for federations which can be bothered to report results. It inevitably works less well for those which choose to boycott the system.

The same British Rapidplay that last year advertised as Fide Ratings having precedence, then after having entered and paid for accommodation was told that I couldnt infact play as my ecf rating was too high.

Cowboys.

You should have made a complaint to the ECF. You might have got a lengthy report published with recommendations for what to do in future.

In one of his pre-round speeches, the organiser of the British rapidplay said that he wanted to FIDE rate it but apparently the ECF said it would have cost £800 so he didn't bother. I could have misheard though as this sounds pretty unlikely but I know nothing about such things.

Yes I was there and heard that figure too. I was rather puzzled as it was FIDE rated last time I played in 2016. He did give more explanation but I didn't take it all in so I don't want to attempt to repeat the explanation here.
