The season is eventually recommencing - allegedly - next week. I'll update as soon as possible.
I've received the following e-mail;-

Last week it was confirmed the Premier League season will resume on 17 June if all safety requirements are in place.

And today we’re pleased to let you know Fantasy Premier League is open again for FPL managers to prepare for the season 2019/20 run-in. But you’ll notice we’ve made the following changes:

• The remaining season’s fixtures have been allocated new Gameweeks
• Each new Gameweek is indicated by a ‘+’ (e.g. GW30+, GW31+, GW32+)
• GW30+ is a double Gameweek starting with two midweek fixtures (AVLSHU and MCIARS) followed by a full round of 10 matches
• FPL managers can make unlimited free transfers until the GW30+ deadline without playing a wildcard
• Prices of players will not change until after the GW30+ deadline has passed
• Any unused Wildcards or chips will remain available for use before the end of the season
• Triple Captain, Bench Boost and Free Hit chips are available in GW30+

The Gameweek 30+ deadline is Wednesday 17 June at 17:00 BST, an hour before Aston Villa v Sheffield United kicks off at Villa Park.

There will be a full summary when the GameWeek has finished. With just two matches played here are some facts from Premier Chess to date. The average score to date for this GameWeek is 23 points. The top 12 teams in Premier Chess all scored over 50 points; in fact 18 of the top 20 teams scored 40 points or above. No team in places 51-79 managed to reach 50 points. I expect several teams to score 100+ points this GameWeek.

I signed D Luiz, fortunately the cheap Villa midfielder who managed the first booking of the night.

Week 30+

It's OK to say we've missed football - Gary Lineker

With the restart of the Premier League, fantasy football aficionados made full use of their extra transfer, triple captain, bench boost and free hit cards. The average score for the week was 66 points with 47 of the top 50 managers in Premier Chess exceeding this including 14 who scored 100 points or more; Adam Bremner scoring a High-Speed 125 points. None of the lower places (51-79) managed to achieve triple figures with Dominic Rabbitte in the sidings on just 40 points not helped by -3 from David Luiz.. Sam Herring takes over top spot despite not playing a chip; however the pack is now in full pursuit with several making significant gains meaning that Grant Bucher is pushed out of the top five.

1 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 104 1808
2 Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 91 1798
3 Salt & Pepe Onos Kofi-Ofuafor 96 1774
4 The Beach Boys Richard Beach 107 1762
5 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 125 1758

Overall - Chris McGowan with his team Aúpa Atleti had been top for seven weeks but has now been pushed out by EKF uNITED. However the re-emergence of World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen who has moved up to 4th place with 1975 points a mere 11 behind the overall leader means that there will be a fight right to the finish. The 2,000 point mark will be acheived this game week.

Week 31+

"They are really a bunch of top boys and I am really happy to be part of this moment. Jurgen Klopp.

Well Liverpool have won the Premier League - but who will win Premier Chess? Paul Spiller with the GameWeek top score of 115 took a giant leap towards the title and has retaken 1st place outpacing his rivals with now only 10 teams within striking distance. Meanwhile a small step for Matt Parry's side "Excalibur" whose mediocre low score of 32 means the team are stuck in stone in 75th place out of 79.

1 Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 115 1913
2 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 84 1892
3 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 99 1857
4 The Beach Boys Richard Beach 97 1855
5 Salt & Pepe Onos Kofi-Ofuafor 74 1848

Meanwhile 135 teams broke the 2,000 point barrier with yet another change in the leading team which now has 2072 points. Unlike last year it promises to be a close finish.

No mention of Carlsen's feat?

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/ ... uana-again
No mention as he is in the same position as last week once all the fixtures for Week 31+ were played. Positions in the middle of a Game Week are of little significance whilst there are still matches outstanding. Game Week 32+ which has F.A.Cup matches in the middle has six separate days starting tomorrow and ending on Thursday. So the positions after tomorrow's match which could propel Magnus back to the top (he's a Wolves supporter and has the free scoring Raúl Jiménez in his team) will be immaterial if his rivals outscore him on other days. On that note some of the top sides still have Bench Boost/Triple Captain chips to play which are likely to be vital on the run-in.

Week 32+

"We weren’t good enough and we were punished" Jordan Henderson after Liverpool thrashed 4-0 by City.

For some of us it was a disastrous week with the above result making a large contribution to low scores. Some managers however picked or retained some high scoring players with Nick London (in 78th place) and John Sargent (in 79th and last place) scoring 88 and 77 points respectively to leave Dominic Rabbitte propping up the League. Even so their scores couldn't match that of Tony Niccoli's with 90 points whilst Dave Ledgers "Beard Hair" had the trimmest result of the week with a mere 26 points. Paul Spiller and Sam Herring still go head-to-head for the lead and we lose Onos Kofi-Ofuafor from the top five for the first time in months.

1. Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 58 1971
2 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 78 1970
3 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 74 1931
4 The Beach Boys Richard Beach 70 1925
5 Hope Springs David Egginton 82 1917

Overall Carlsen dropping back - more next time.

Week 33+

“From day one, Ralph has had a positive impact on the club, everyone within it and our fans" Martin Semmens, Southampton CEO.

Well after a long wait, football has become like London Buses - three weeks come at once. I realised I'd not summarised Week 33 as play started in week 34 - possibly after a series of disastrous choices for my team. Consequently a bit hazy about top and bottom scorers but I'm looking no further than Grant Bucher (86) who was 70 ahead of Nick London (16). If anyone knows different let me know. An honourable mention to Thomas Evans as well - into the top five!

1. Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 70 2041
2 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 57 2027
3 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 79 2010
4 Jonny Be Good Thomas Evans 72 1984
5= Salt & Pepe Onos Kofi-Ofuafor 79 1983
5= The Beach Boys Richard Beach 58 1983

Meanwhile Magnus Carlsen down to 23rd - even worse his namesake Magnum Dong Carlsen is up to 15th - I doubt whether he will merit a mention in Leonard's column.

Week 34+

"What a football man, loved and adored, especially in Ireland. John Aldridge on Jack Charlton who died yesterday.

It was a big scoring week (for some managers) with Jon Tait on 101 reaching triple figures and a promotion to Page One; meanwhile Dave Ledgers team "Beard Hair" scored a trim 31 points for the low score of the week. We forgot to mention that in Week 33 our top three teams broke the 2000 point barrier - now extended to ten sides. With four weeks to go still plenty to play for!

1 Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 66 2107
2 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 57 2084
3 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 68 2078
4 The Beach Boys Richard Beach 88 2071
5 Hope Springs David Egginton 87 2066

Overall We say goodbye to Magnus Carlsen - now relegated to Page 2 of the overall ratings. He is also down to second place in the Grandmaster League now behind Julia Movsesian (Slovakia). Top Overall for a third successive week is Joshua Bull's team "The Bulldozers" with an impressive 2325 points.

Week 35+

We did not take our chances and they took theirs." Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Monday night finishes Week 35+ and straight into Week 36+ - the only thing settled is Norwich's relegation back to the Championship. Some teams have now been dropped by the wayside and a look at the top five shows that Thomas Evans still has a Free Hit and Triple Captain left in his chip shop whilst both Adam Bremner and Sam Herring have no specials left to play. Paul Spiller is opening a larger gap at the top. Meanwhile Richard Dineley who probably hasn't looked at his team all season (no transfers made) was top scorer on 82 points whereas Rhys Cummings (no transfers from the restart) finished the week with a miserly 19 points

1 Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 67 2174
2 Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 60 2138
3 Hope Springs David Egginton 74 2136
4 Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 47 2131
5 Jonny Be Good Thomas Evans 61 2125

Top Scorer The message board has spent a great deal of time discussing cheating; however I was amazed to see that one team (a new entry in Week 35+) had managed to score 148 points with their first selection including Antonio(Triple Captain), Deeney, Sterling etc. - just fortunate or some jiggery-pokery? Unfortunately they have disappeared from view as top score of the week was 151 points from Team " Gucci Mané ⭐" who at least have had the decency to be in from Week 1.

Week 36+

This club deserves to be in the Premier League Mark Noble, West Ham's captain on his 500th appearance

Paul Spiller has a 23 point gap to the two teams below; not insurmountable but with two weeks remaining can he maintain that gap? Meanwhile the icing on the cake went to Barry Redburn with a magnificent 68 points and a rise of 300,000 places whilst there were no crumbs of comfort for Gavin Carter who scored just 16 points. Dominic Rabbitte with 59 points relegated John Sargent to the wooden spoon position of 79th and last.

1 Brokeback Mount10 Paul Spiller 47 2217
2= Sheep on Fire Adam Bremner 56 2194
2= Wijnaldum Leviosa Sam Herring 63 2194
4 Hope Springs David Egginton 48 2184
5 Jonny Be Good Thomas Evans 50 2171

Overall Chris McGowan held first place at the break with his team Aúpa Atleti and now after a seven week gap he's retaken the lead and has 2428 points; meanwhile a resurgent Magnus Carlsen is just 25 points back on 2403 and still in with a shout.
