BBC Sport are running an article on Branko Zebec, a former Bayern Munich coach. The article has a paragraph which states "Those close to Zebec witnessed in despair as his life and career fell apart. His talents were broad - he was a brilliant chess player who excelled in the study of maths and physics. He was capable of winning over footballers, but couldn't beat alcoholism."
There didn't seem to be anything else in the article to corroborate his brilliance at chess and I can't seem to locate anything either. Does anyone know if it is true or is it just another media fiction?

Now all the 2nd hand charity shops are open and choc full of covid lock-down donations I have stocked
up on my 4 for £1.00 Sci-Fi books and picked up a few chess books along the way. (one doubler and a trebler).

Whilst here I will pass on advice of what NOT to do in a charity shop if looking for chess books.

Just finished reading one of the 4 for a quid books: 'Artemis' by Andy Weir.



It was his follow up to 'The Martian' which was made into a film (right pic) with the
Magnus Carlsen look-a-like playing the part of the human left behind on Mars.

Both good but preferred 'The Martian.'

In Artemis, set on the Moon in the 2080's, the heroine (to be played in the film by a top female chess playing look-a-like)
gets a message from a boy telling her he has joined a chess club and has a rating of 1124 adding; "...that is not very good."
