A fairly substantial article on England's fifth (OTB) Grandmaster, Jonathan Speelman whose birthday it is today.
Hopefully you will find a number of photographs not currently lurking on the interweb thingy and not previously published.

Happy Birthday Jonathan Speelman.
I didn't realise Jonathan's middle name is Simon !!
A true titan of British Chess.
I have a copy of the book:
Jon Speelman's Chess Puzzle Book
2008 Edition by Gambit.
An excellent book and would recommend people buy it.
It covers all sorts of tactics.

I presume the earlier birthday tributes are being moved to this section in due course?

I've moved the ones I could find in the first few pages of General Chat. (It is, rather annoyingly, not possible to use the Moderator functions from the Search results.)

Don't forget the John Poole one on the first page of General Chat.
I notice there are loads in Chess History that will keep you busy.
When is your birthday Jack?

Thanks for doing this Jack and thanks to Carl for creating this new category.

Thanks. I'm afraid I've found two more in General Chat on the first page:
Leonard is ninety one
Many Happy Returns Aaron Summerscale
