His new idea has been to set up the Queen's Gambit Academy
Let's hope there are no legal implications in selecting a name presently associated with the recently-popular Netflix series

I've counted 12 separate Topics started by Charlie on the first page of the Adverts Category and he started a new advert in the Juniors Category a couple of days ago.
I don't think he's added anything else to the forum.
Some of the Deaths reported, he would have known but not posted a reply there.

Not too sure if the 'Queens Gambit' could cause a legal problem.

Apart from various opening books with same title there is:

(I wonder her sales have taken a sudden boost due to all publicity.

"Let's hope there are no legal implications in selecting a name presently associated with the recently-popular Netflix series"

It is doubtful.

Victoria Beckham (formerly known as "Posh" Spice) tried to stop Peterborough calling themselves the "Posh", which they had been doing for about 70 years.
Kylie Kardashian (who she?) tried to tell Kylie Minogue to change her name
Warner Brothers tried to take action against Marx Brothers over the title "A Night in Casablanca" and Groucho wrote to them pointing out that (a) WB didn't own the city of Casablanca and (b) Marx Brothers were brothers long before Warner Brothers were, so they must change the name of the company immediately...

Also Queen's Gambit as a title has been around a long time. I think Charlie would quite safely refer any complainants to the renowned reply in Arkell vs Pressdram.

Yes it has, but for most of that very long time it hasn't just been the title of an extremely popular TV series with which this new venture has no connection.

(Things like this can and do happen, and when they do, citing Arkell v Pressdram may be less helpful than amusing.)

Good grief - the average female hat-seller probably doesn't care much about football.

There was the guy in the Midlands who opened a shop called "Singh'sbury"

.... one of the best-known and far-reaching examples being this. (Doubtless other sites cover the same ground more thoroughly.)

Football chat on radio, it lasts about 45 minutes and chess gets a mention in the first two minutes, then they go on to something else and I soon got bored. I have no idea if there are other mentions.

McDonalds and Hugo Boss are regular challengers of copyright. Nestle tried to register their Kit-Kat chocolate bars, McVities sued Asda over their Puffin biscuits.

Finally Middle earth Enterprises are another litigator on a regular basis - just one examplehttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-h ... e-17433036. The landlord, a Mr Barliman Butterbur, expressed surprise at the writ.

But what about the average female hat-purchaser?

In the case of the Sevilla milliner, I thought Arsenal's conduct was simply bullying, since there was no reason to suggest there had been any attempt to deliberately associate the shop with the football club or otherwise piggyback off its name or image. This is not something that can be so easily said of our Maltese enterprise.

Yeah. Even the Opening that he said he invented is piggybacked from the Pterodactyl.
I don't like the way he advertises himself as the Sniper and has a picture of himself pretending to shoot a gun on his website.
He has a few Domains that he owned up for sale and a number of other websites seem to have disappeared.
