Re: (Chess) Life Returning To Normal
A chess friend from the North East has had his vaccination. He did ask me if the Blackpool Chess Congress is going ahead.
On the website it still says it is going ahead. I do have my doubts though.
On a different note, sadly I have some bad news to report which I'll post in Deaths and Obituaries soon.

I'm surprised that you would fall for that one, Tim.Tim Spanton wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 8:37 pmThat seems v promising - certainly makes me more inclined to be vaxed

Today's story is that 12 people have been fined for playing dominoes in an East London restaurant. (They were wearing masks, allegedly).

""The fact that these people hid from officers clearly shows they knew they were breaching the rules and have now been fined for their actions.""
In fairness, most people hide from the police in Whitechapel.

Clearly it's a sign of people being selfish. Not thinking about fellow human beings.
It all started with Dominic Cummins.
Then there was the SNP MP.
We also heard this weekend about professional footballers in London breaking the rules over Christmas and New Year.
The rules are the rules, whether you agree with them or not. They apply to everyone.
On a different note, sadly I have yet another death to report.

Before my time, I'm afraid Tim.
John Cooper has asked me to say hello to you again. He was asking after you, how you were doing. He really enjoyed his game with you a few months ago, despite losing.
Apologies for the other day. I think wires were crossed.
I've noticed down below, one of the great forumites celebrates a big birthday today.
