Someone has put a direct question to Nigel Short on Twitter asking him if it is he who is being referred to. I dare say anyone so inclined could do some detective work to narrow the culprit down to a very small number of people based on what she has said.

Sabrina has also said "over the next 7 days, I will release a detailed story each day. I have enough to maybe last a year. They will be a mixture of sexual harassment/assault, racism, paedophilia and generally awful behaviour."

Good, because one frequently hears complaints about such behaviour, but rarely any specifics on what happened.

If so, was it handled properly or was it brushed under the carpet?

He was 58 in 2002 and therefore would be around 79 now. I'm not sure if he is alive.

There are suggestions an incident took place at the prizegiving of the 2000 British at Millfield School. A name that's been speculated wasn't playing there. I suppose it's possible he was present for the prize giving.

It is probably a bit late to do anything about that one ( cf Eley ). Let's see if we can find a case of recent or current misbehaviour, of which we are assured there are a great many.

Why would you put out a story like that but not name the miscreant? I shall genuinely never understand - it's not as though the GM who is immediately under suspicion commands unqualified love around chess media. What if it isn't him?

At Olympiads he was usually otherwise engaged on FIDE matters. Otherwise I suspect he just declared himself unavailable.
