Middlesex. It doesn't exist anymore. (Note to Alex : This is a factual statement, please let's not have a debate on what should and shouldn't be a county )Gavin Strachan wrote:Which of the following SCCU counties is the odd one out?

Re: Odd one out
SH is correct. Though technically Sussex also doesn't exist as it is 2 counties.
Well done. No cheque in the post.
Potters Bar used to be Middlesex and now is Herts.
Middlesex only exists as a Postal county i.e. the PO use it.

Of course it exists. I think it exists, therefore...Gavin Strachan wrote:Nope! Just not sure how you can like something that doesn't exist....hey wait a minute all the God debate will begin now form the agnostics.

Middlesex University? Middlesex Cricket, where the only reason the pitches don't get reported is because the pitch inspectors come from there...
(Sorry Adam - couldn't resist it.)

"Lords is in Yorkshire?"
No, but Thomas Lord was from Yorkshire!
Adam's gone quiet - either he's furious or thinking of something really good...

Re: Odd one out
Who has ever heard of Greater London anyhow?!
There's an 18 year waiting list to become a member of Lords...
Still up for that friendly match, Gavin, if your boys can motivate themselves to crawl round the M25 for ONE HELL OF A BEATING!

2 points spring to mind about the above map.
a) Wow, Middlesex really is small compared to the other counties isn't it!?
b) "Trad" in the image URL...stands for "traditional"? Is this a synonym for outdated, ancient, unreliable? Which decade of medieval England does Ye Olde Mappe show exactly!?

Re: Odd one out
Size isn't everything. Most of the other counties have a lot of wasted space, forests, fields and other stuff. Plus Middlesex has a lot of speed bumps, meaning the actual surface area is twice the size of Yorkshire.Alexander Hardwick wrote:2 points spring to mind about the above map.

Trad is perhaps an abbreviation of Ye Olde word 'Tradgick'

If Middlesex doesn't exist then nor does England.
