The names have to be typed in against the boards etc. so sorry about that - I do suspect that the board 4 draw was the Conquest game however?

This often happens following games online. Another favourite is the way in which you watch a game from the start and then it all crashes ten minutes before the time control when everybody else piles in.

But it has spoiled things. There's no excitement when I don't know who's playing, just frustration.

Thanks for clearing that up Stewart. Readers were confused because the official website has a photo on the formnt page with the caption

l to r: GM Keith Arkell English Champion 2008, IM Jovanka Houska British Ladies Champion 2008 and GM Stuart Conquest British Champion 2008.

And we couldnt understand why Keith was champion over Stuart!

If you look, you will find that Stephen Connor corrected this very quickly after it had been drawn to my attention. He is an enormously valuable asset, as is David Clayton.

It wasn't a criticism Stewart, I was just explaining why the question was being asked. The caption that I copied and pasted earlier is still the one showing on the front page of the tournament website (at least, it is on my machine). But its no big deal - you've answered the question!
