1978 Jamie Hall possibly
1981 Michael Kerridge
1982 Mina Eaves (I think)
1983 Farouk Khan (not 100% on spelling)

Re: Champions Names
1956 - David G. Macdonald I suspect. He was a colleague of mine at the Hilltop Chess Clun back in the early 1970's and graded around 190 then.

Re: Champions Names
> 1979 U18 SGF Kerr
I wonder if this could be a typo? There is a Stephen G R Kerr, an Australian born in 1962 (i.e. about 17 in 1979), who certainly would have been strong enough to win the British U18 Championship in 1979. Stephen Kerr was Australian Junior (=U18) Champion in 1979 and is still active in correspondence chess. I will e-mail him to find out if the mysterious "SGF Kerr" of 1979 U18 is him.

Re: Champions Names
1986 - Joanne Smith is correct
1989 it is David Jagoe
1990 Stephen Calderwood and Stephen Joseph
1986 I Nathoo's brother was called Irfan, that might jog somebody's memory.

Re: Champions Names
Nick Thomas said 1984 was presumably Simon Brown, but it could also be Stuart Brown, who I think was well over 200, when he decide to take up Dungeons and Dragons instead!

Very possible. I played an S Kerr at Basingstoke earlier in 1979 who I vaguely recall as being an Aussie.Jon D'Souza-Eva wrote:> 1979 U18 SGF Kerr

1986 Irfan Nathoo
Other recent names could be confirmed from grading lists: if you want me to do this you only have to ask.

Re: Champions Names
If it was Simon, he should be disqualified immediately, for being about 3 years over the age limit!Matthew Turner wrote:Nick Thomas said 1984 was presumably Simon Brown, but it could also be Stuart Brown, who I think was well over 200, when he decide to take up Dungeons and Dragons instead!
