Carlsen has beaten Adams, the fat lady has not sung yet, but from where I sit Carlsen has won.

I think Carlsen played an excellent game, I don't think Mickey was ever really in it. Looks like there is every chance of no draws todays, what exciting chess - terrific format.

The sight of Short and Macshane having a glass of wine each and obviously enjoying the situation, tells me because of the Internet, chess is finally pressing the right buttons

Far better than the press conference of Carlsen and Adams. Daniel King had to keep asking questions to stop them just sitting there...

Round 3 of the FIDE Open is on the LCC website and can be seen there.

But really tho' they have to do something about the music, it sounds a bit like the kind of music played when in a lift, there must be people out there who are both chess players and musicians. The music part of the whole thing definitely needs work on.

I can't find a crosstable or the results of the FIDE open anywhere on the LCC site. I've found a page for the 8 live games on the top boards but what about the rest of results?!

can anyone provide me a link please?

So how did you get on (at the chess, not the boxing)?

Go to Festival Events down the side and choose the event you want. Scroll down the page.

Obviously only the current events are active.

Really? I have to ask this, because it sounds surreal (or a joke). Were they really having a glass of wine in the commentary room with a live internet audience watching, or was this later, outside, in the cafeteria area?
