Yateley Manor: Sat 28th / Sun 29th Jan 2012 ?

Can anyone point me towards a website or entry form for this tournament?

My son will be playing in the Closed Championship. I was hoping there would be something for my daughter (U10 school year or U11 FIDE) to play in as well.

To answer my own question, I found an entry form in my rather over-high "in box". Since I couldn't find it online I scanned it in and uploaded it here in case anyone else finds it useful:

A few thoughts come to mind:-

What is the criteria for invitation

Who has been invited

Is this connected with Phil Ehr's selection process or is this completely independant and if so what purpose does it serve? Surely Junior Chess needs to be unified to be effective

Certainly a few years ago when I played this tournament it was run under the auspices of the National Junior Squad, and thus was separate from the Junior Director. This means that is almost certainly will not be connected to Phil Ehr's selection process, at least not any more than any tournament involving a large number of strong English juniors will be. As to what point is has, I can't see how any tournament organised for juniors can be said to be pointless. I am not at all convinced that Junior Chess needs to be totally unified, nor am I sure how an independent tournament represents something that will damage the effectiveness of junior chess.

At the time I played in it, it was open to all those in the National Junior Squad and anyone who had got one "half-norm" to the junior squad.
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

An answer to the above posts regarding selection has been made in the 'Draft Junior Selection Policy for 2012' topic in this Junior Chess thread.
My thanks to Junior Director, Phil Ehr, for that. It certainly makes things clear to me.

All looking good for next weekend. Late or potential late entrants can give Joe French a ring on 01256472537 . We can still fit you in and you are welcome!

Junior Director Phil Ehr will be holding a parents meeting at 930am on Saturday in the Fyson Blum Hall. This is a good opportunity to meet him and ask any questions you may have.

Results for most sections at http://results.tournamentdirector.co.uk/. I ran out of time for the Under 11s and Under 14 closed, but they should go up this evening.
