Hastings Rating Duplication
A link from the thread about David Howell

Don't think that's correct !
Whether it's Hastings, ECF or FIDE at fault, I wouldn't know.
It seems to apply to everyone who played at Hastings though for example

It's not just duplication. (they appear to have been rated once on the basis of the October list and once on the basis of the January list)Roger de Coverly wrote:A link from the thread about David Howell

I have been given a loss in round nine, a game in which i won. I wondered why they never got round to sending me any prize money...

Re: Hastings Rating Duplication
This is truly loopy. I can't say I would mind getting back to 2375 or so, but my results haven't yet deserved it.
Maybe they're practising for when the K factors double.

If it's the ECF do we get a refund to our membership fee?
Re: Hastings Rating Duplication
I dont know if anyone has noticed but it's not really a duplication.
One set of results has been rated as the Hastings Masters - the other as the Hastings Weekend Open. This also corresponds with the point about October / January rating lists as the Masters started in December (so uses the Oct list, whilst the Weekender started in Jan, using the Jan list). Myself and a friend both played in the Weekend Open - and neither of us is showing any games from Hastings at all!
Which rather suggests that someone edited the header data on the Masters rating file to prepare it for the Weekend data, but forgot to change the actual data itself!!

Who is technically responsible? I assume that the results pass through the ECF rating officer before FIDE get hold of them.
Basically i would rather like my round 9 loss to be reversed - but who do i contact to pre-empt publication?

The contact details for the new ECF International Rating Officer, Ray Ryan Foster, are on the ECF website.

Re: Hastings Rating Duplication
Ray Ryan is a really good guy, wont get any of the dodgy rating reports like we did in the Paul Keevil days.

Richard,
The results supplied by the event arbiter, Alex McFarlane, state that you lost in the last round - even if the event web site and PGN say otherwise. You will need to contact Ray Ryan Foster about this if you have not already done so.

Re: Hastings Rating Duplication
I had left Hastings before the last round (had to return to work). The wrong result with regard to Richard's game was sent to me to complete the paperwork. When I was informed of this I corrected the info and passed it on. Howard can you do something about this or should I contact David Welch (who looked after the last two rounds)?
I don't understand why the old data should have reached FIDE.

I have now told Ray about this. He's the only person who can correct it.

Is there a chance of Ray registering on this forum and coming online then Howard?Howard Grist wrote:I have now told Ray about this. He's the only person who can correct it.
