e2e4 London Diamond Jubilee Congress

Post by Alex Holowczak » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:22 pm

Colours for Round 1 will be determined by the number of games played in Federer v Mahut tennis match on Friday 1st June in the French Open. If an even number of games are played in that match, then the top seed in each section will be white. If an odd number of games are played in that match, then the top seed will be black. If 0 games are played, that is an even number.

Up to 10 live games will be transmitted in each round, which can be viewed at www.e2e4.org.uk/live

Just tried to download some PGN files from: http://e2e4.org.uk/games/index.htm

but for every link, I get an error 404 message.

Before I start messing about with stuff, is this the same for everybody or is the problem at my end?

Thanks.

It's a problem at my end which I cannot understand. The files are there and the link is correct. I will post a zip file of all games shortly as a temporary fix.

You need to make sure that the filename "case" is correct?

Here's my round 1 game from Gatwick, which was pretty exciting - watch out for my opponent's 29th move which I'd completely overlooked. All credit to him for finding it when short of time! I'd played some bad moves earlier on but managed to claw my way back to what I thought was a decent position...

What happened to all the "w"s on the club list? I've noticed that the players play for places like Noray and Sitzerland as well as Harro :)

The club field is actually the "Flag" field, in which it usually transfers a "w" to mean a female player. So what it's doing is taking out the w from the club, making the player in question female, and showing the club without a "w".

And now it's a two move win for Vovk.

Did Malcolm's phone go off?

I believe it's a faulty board.

It is indeed a faulty board. I didn't use it yesterday but I decided to give it a go today. Won't try that again! The moves and result now showing are correct - but only because I input them manually.
