Re:Chess Scotland.
The forum there is on the official site of Chess Scotland so it is
only correct that it is moderated by a CS official.

Being the offical site they have to be a bit more careful what they allow thorugh.
I've never had a problem with them. (no posts pulled that I can think of.)

So it's a bit like CJ moderating this forum if it were on the ECF site. Which ofcourse it isn't.

As Geoff has said the CEO decides what he lets through.

Which also means as I said earlier that it isn't openly democratic.

It could and should be moderated by any member of Chess Scotland who has the credentials to do so.

Just as when Andy started moderating the forum he wasn't an elected official of Chess Scotland.

The daily mail article says He has complained to British police and Norfolk Police are arranging to take a statement from him.

If a formal complaint is made to the police.The police had a duty to investigate this matter and have a policy of taking any alleged acts of racism very serious often leading to court.The police encourage any one who believes they suffered racism or if you witness racism to report it to them at once.This could well be taken out of the ECF hands.

i have been on these type of trips before with Peter and i can say that the food is often not good. When we last went i had to make other arrangements to eat out! but of course you got to have the money to do this otherwise your stuck in the hotel!

It's not as exciting as this forum but this forum does not represent a national body.
The CS site and the forum is there to promote Scottish Chess.

The picture of the bruises on that child clearly indicate this is more than
a misunderstanding which I and most of us thought was the original case.

This has nothing to do with chess and someone now has the very difficult job of pulling
chess out of this matter without a stink that can linger for years to come and the game
losing at least 3 talented young players.
I think we can do without the "I told you so" attitude that is breeding in this thread
and give who ever it is our full support.

Well done to the young chess player Ieysaa Bin-Suhayl for picking up a bronze medal
in what sounds like very difficult cirmcumstances.

A fresh start!

A fresh start would involve a certain person apologising for using his position of power and authority to publicly defame myself on the
Chess Scotland noticeboard. In general we are equals on these boards until the moderator intervenes. I havn't yet seen Carl intervene to falsely accuse anybody of anything.

The food issue at junior events aboard does need looking into.The food was not good the last time we went.The food was often served cold and very little choice was given and who would you complain to? I just made other arrangements to eat out! Not that it will effect us again as Peter will not be playing in these type of events.

Our game loses many young chess players over issues that are not dealt with in a fair way by the ECF I think a standard response to any complaint is its all misunderstanding or silence is anther tactic used by the ECF or it all happened to long ago so we can not help.

I think this issue will be taken out of the hands of the ECF and the police will investigate the matter fully if its true the family have made a formal complaint to the police.
