Hi Phil.

Welcome to the ECF forum.

Sounds like it all got nasty. I did say to Angus.

"Maybe you let slip in a personal remark."

Sounds like it was perhaps more than one.

Always good to hear both sides.

I don't know if CS has any legal right to prevent anyone posting on here
but it won't come to that. Carl and crew run a tight ship.
They don't allow any nonsense.

I've seen loads of rows crossing over onto different threads before,
this one has crossed forums and a border.
Must have been quite a blow-out.

I too enjoyed the Pizza, hopefully we can do the same one day.
Sounds good! Just name a tournament Peter and we'll try to be there. Perhaps an E2E4 event.
We enjoyed the Jubilee one at Gatwick recently. I know what you mean by the time passing.
lamentable that Peter didn't have more opportunities. Still he's one heck of a player and hopefully
that is consolation.

Angus
Thanks for comments about Peter much appreciated.Peter playing at Coulsdon next week and maybe this will be his last event for some time.I have not got the enthusiasm for the chess any more.
Quite like the E2E4 events but for reasons that i wont bore you with here we can not play in them.
One day we have the pizza all of us.Good luck to Ian and Mary Ann.
when you are successful many losers bark at you.

I have no idea what happened over on the Scotland forum and to be honest I really don't care

I am however bored that this sort of nonsense has spilled over from one forum to the other, next person to do this just gets a bar so I don't have to read any more of this story
Good Evening Carl,

Firstly can I thank you for giving me the chance to post here. I am have read both the EC and Chess Scotland forums for some time but this is the first time I have actually posted in one.

I hope that what I say does not get a ban, but I really feel I have to come out and say something.

I think the antics of Angus are quite frankly low. He is picking on someone whom I consider to be one in a generation that, along with the other Directors and helpers give 1,000s of hours selflessly each year. This young man has come from nowhere and really has taken Chess Scotland by the horns and appears to be doing things that we have not seen for some time. We should be encouraging people like Andy, not pillorying them at every opportunity.

Why on earth would we want to chase someone like this away?

I have said my piece on this and I am going to go back to, I believe you call it lurking. Hopefully we will now see an end to this before it causes some real damage!

I seem to have sparked all this off by posting a suggestion that the existence of the Chess Scotland Standards Committee hasn't exactly resulted in everything being sweetness and light north of the border.

I think my point has been made.

Phil,

I copied your post before your friend pulled it for you and made me the scapegoat.

You lampooned everybody basically. I've got the post but I won't post it here Phil because
Carl won't like it.

Stop misrepresenting me. I changed the word buddy to friend in my posts. That was it.

What would you like to tell everybody I changed?

Peter,

Thanks. I know what you mean about being put off Chess.

I certainly wouldn't have brought my children into it if I'd known more about some of the characters running it.

I am closing this one as it is probably better taken up elsewhere
