c5-c4? Perhaps Black doesn't want b or d xc5 followed by c5-c6, but doesn't want to open either the b or d files with cxb or d4 either...

Fritz 12 gave 18...Ba8 as big plus to Black. 18...Nb4 however was given as pretty much equal.

Now; following 20. Bf2 Fritz scores it as -1.41

I don't know. 21. ... gxf3 22. gxf3 Nxe4 23. fxe4 Bxe4 still looks hairy. Maybe the bishop should have gone to h4.

I've turned on a few engines to answer people's questions. They think that 19...gxf3 or 19...cxd4 might have been better (=+) for Black. 19...Rxd4 gives White an advantage after 20. Qxa7 Rxb4 21. Rxb4 cxb4 22. Ba6 Bxa6 23. Qxa6+ Kd7 24. Qa5, but there is disagreement about the size of the advantage.

After 19...c4, 20. Bh4 appears to lead to a perpetual: 20...gxf3 21. gxf3 Qd6 22. Bxf6 Qg3+ 23. Ke2 Bxe4 24. fxe4 Qd3+ 25. Kf2 Qg3+.

20. Bf2 looks like a mistake: 20...gxf3 21. gxf3 Nxe4 22. fxe4 Bxe4 23. Rh5 Bxb1 24. Bxc4 Be4 25. Ba6+ Bb7 26. Qb5 Bxa6 27. Qxa6+ Kd7 28. Qb5+ c6 and Black should have enough to win.
