Chess books in charity shops

Although a joke that is actually a good piece of advice if the shop has a large selection of books and are dotted around all over the place. If you cannot see any in the puzzles/sports and hobbies section just ask 'Where do you keep your chess books.' (that also covers any books in the back.)
I've seen them in the kids section and a while back I picked up a few T.D.Harding opening books in the computer section.
Although out of date theory wise what was good v an under 2000 player in the 1970's will still be good today and the complete instructive games, Tim has an excellent eye when selecting these games, they are always good value in any era.

It was Batsford Second Chess Course by Michael Basman (1992 Edition). Reasonably priced at just two pounds.
I've donated the book to Poulton-le-Fylde Chess Club.

Sold more than 70 on eBay in the last two weeks with more than that to come.

I bought a chess book in my local Trinity Hospice Charity Shop recently.
Titled: Playing the Grunfeld A Combative Repertoire, by Alexey Kovalchuk, First Edition 2020. Retails for just under £30.00.
It was a bargain at just £4.50.
