Shropshire Congress is now taking entries for 2025.

The dates have been moved forward a week to avoid clashing with the Hastings Congress.
Entries likely to be limited to 160 so please reserve a place early (refunds given up to the start of the event)

All sections ECF rated.
Open, Major (U1900), Intermediate (U1700), Minor (U1500).

Entry Fee: £38 all sections

3 grading prizes in each section


Hot and cold food served all day Saturday and Sunday by the Housing Trust catering team, including cooked breakfasts and Sunday roast.

The dates have been moved forward a week to avoid clashing with the Hastings Congress.

Hastings have only published their dates and not the tournament schedule. Their dates are Saturday 28th December to Sunday 5th January.

They suggested that they would have 9 rounds over 7 days implying that their niine round tournament would start on the 28th and finish on the 3rd with the 5 round weekender running from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th.

Your dates do however have the merit of avoiding the division 3 & 4 weekend of 11th & 12th Jan.
