Czech (formerly Czecholslovak) GM who was national champion in 1995.
In more recent years ran a widely acclaimed chess shop.
EDIT: it appears he does not have a Wikipedia entry which is pretty astonishing given their improved chess coverage in recent years.

Played him four times. Three draws and a loss. He was quiet but had a fluent command of the English language.
