There are three kinds of 'being' doing the morning commute - those going faster than the speed limit, those going at the speed limit and those going slower than it. The latter are not regarded as enlightened by the former two.
I don't know about the 'Asperger-Mystic' but why would any truly enlightened being be in a vehicle in the rush hour - such a being would have other/better things to do, in my opinion, unless of course there is some higher purpose (apart from brass) to enduring the wacky race to work?

Martyn Jacobs wrote:Not doing things in haste, or having a slower tempo, is not necessarily the same as going slower than the speed limit.

The main difference with having a slower tempo, is that the reorientation time might be longer

It might mean not accelerating rapidly, and taking slightly longer to react in normal circumstances, due to being more relaxed.

In its essence, enlightenment is more about an internal state of mind which translates into the physical world, in subtle ways - I.e. A General lack of haste, rather than a specific maximum speed
Some might say that a lack of haste in certain circumstances could be seen as a lack of awareness, a lack of presence. For example, if such an enlightened being were standing in the middle of a busy road after a blind corner, (stupidly maybe, but perhaps pondering the mysteries of the universe mid-step), their slower tempo might end with them getting splattered over the landscape. At least then they would be one with the universe!

There speaks a hard-headed/hearted (delete as per your preference) realist. On a lighter note...

Tis light makes colour visible; at night
Red, green & russet vanish from thy sight.
So too the light by darkness is made know.
All hid things by their contraries are shown.

Internal mental states are hidden and cannot be truly made known to others. You can attempt to communicate them and may even exhibit physical traits associated with them but they remain mysterious. As for God being 100% enlightened, well, that's a matter of personal opinion or public dogma, depending whether you believe or not.

Witnessed the following circumstances during this evening's rush hour - urban road with S-bend ending in a turn under a railway bridge, cyclist heading towards bridge, car - ignoring signs and over the limit - overtakes cyclist by going into shaded central area despite oncoming traffic then hares round bend and under bridge. If anyone was crossing (as some do) at the traffic island situated just after the bridge they'd be at one with the speeding car first and then, perhaps, the universe.
