The main purpose of the event is to challenge common stereotypes. If anyone wishes to be a chess player at the Library (or even something more specialised like a Chess Champion or GM) please send me a PM.

Wycombe Sharing of Faiths and Wycombe Library present two HUMAN LIBRARY events:
Dates: Sundays 10 and 17 November
Timing: 12noon till 4.00pm
Venue: Wycombe Library, 5 Eden Place, High Wycombe HP11 2DH
We invite you to come to come along – it’s free and no booking is necessary.
Please pass on the info and poster/flier to your friends, colleagues and family too – we think children from age 10 can enjoy the event and get value from it.
We find it’s quite difficult to get the idea across in a few words. We’re not inviting you to come and get your nose stuck in a book – we want you to come and have a one-to-one conversation (up to 30 minutes) with our human ‘books’. They’re people you might not normally have a chance to meet. Talk to them - ask questions - find out about their roles - they will help you enter the world of their life-experience.
We know that almost everyone who has attended over the past 4 years is enthusiastic about Human Library; here are some past favourite titles: Islamic calligrapher; portrait painter; Police; manic depressive; ‘green’ issues; Army; British Muslim; heavy metal; political refugee; lawyer; rugby cap; woman vicar; a Lord; a person with a hearing dog.
