I can believe that it did, but eye-witness confirmation would be good.
Eric Hansen confirmed this on Twitter: "@hansenchess: Gladly accepted a free queen today. 3/3 in London"
Thanks, no better confirmation than that.

The reason I said that I can believe it is because I have both won and lost a queen in one move to a N move.

Now I'm having trouble believing it, though, because in my two games a N moved and attacked a Q but here the Q moved...

If you missed the game -

Edit: I got the round/board the wrong way round (2.3) corrected to (3.2).

The blunders are all there on the board waiting to be made (Tartakower)

Quite believable I think. Its always relatively easy to forget about oddly placed pieces and what on earth is a knight doing on b2 in that position?

I wonder if the knight was "hiding" behind the pawn.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Justin, "you cannot be serious..." that N was out.

Koop could have thought that Hansen had moved the other one instead, 21.Nb2-a4, then 21... Qd3 is playable.

Perhaps he will twitter about it one day.

Marcus Osborne's run has come to an end. Hopefully he can play at his level for the rest of his matches.

He is still doing well, considering he has played 3 IMs and next has his third GM

The FIDE Open notated games (they are not annotated, so just the moves) can be seen in two parts R1-5 & R 6-9 here -

Simon Williams has a typically unbalanced game, this time from a Sicilian 2 b4 with two pawns sacrificed and black's king unable to castle.

Is there any easy way of finding out if anybody got any norms (and/or came close)? It seems to be one of the downsides of the current chess-results site that the software doesn't give a tournament wide overview of performance information/rating changes (I think there used to be a version that did, albeit may have had some errors in it, and one always needed to bear in mind that you had to do extra work for norms due to the regulations on minimum ratings).
