Jessie Gilbert

Post by Gavin Strachan » Fri Jul 24, 2009 7:27 pm

Does anybody know anything about the Jessie Gilbert event. I had an email a few weeks back about it. For some reason the ECF are forwarding emails to me about it from a guy who wants an application form. I have nothing to do with this particular event and emailed the ECF about that fact and so they forwarded the enquiry to another email address I have. I really am not involved in the event in any way! If my wife found out that I was doing a tournament of this size this year, she would probably divorce me. At the moment I am doing a few small events (Brentwood tournament will be back in the future I promise!). Cutting to the chase, I will gladly forward the enquiry to the respective organiser if someone can give me an email address, as the ECF seem to be having a technical glitch at the moment and I am sure they want players. If the ECF keep sending me email addresses I might as well become the chief organiser!

Gavin,

I imagine that emails about the JG Tournament should be forwarded to Scott Freeman / Howard Curtis and the Coulsdon Chess Fellowship.

Cheers. I have forwarded the message to ccfworld. If i get anymore coming my way I will do the same. When I got the first email from the ECF I just thought they had accidentally emailed everybody on a big mailing list at the same time so did not think much about it. When I got another one I thought it was a bit weird!

You are not the first one : Richard Haddrell suddenly started getting emails this week as he had become listed at the ECF Juniors contact for some bizarre reason!

Maybe the following has happened :

List of ECF email subject IDs -> random number generator -> ECF email alias ID from list

is the direct link.

In a splendid piece of organisation, the Surrey County Chess Association has moved its annual finance and league composition meeting a couple of weeks later so that it clashes with the tournament!
