Really? After 40...Kxg4 41. Nh6+ Kg5 I don't know what white can do.

Maybe 41...Kxf4 is better.

What am I missing?
Nh6 is checkmate
Doy! I just realised I was looking at whites pawns the wrong way round.

In that Arkell game though, I'm surprised he went forward with his King like that. I lost a game recently, and watched an U16 (Rob, in fact) lose this morning, with a similar sort of King push with rooks and things still on the board. I'd have played 36...Kg7 instead. But then, who am I to criticise!

If it's any consolation, it took me about five minutes to work out why you didn't take the rook with your king a few moves earlier. :P

Hello all.

That second display really had me baffled.

They are new boards and this is the first time we have used them in full tournament conditions.

Labels are attached to the outside of the boards in the factory to identify the serial number of the circuit boards within each board. What I have now realised is that some of these boards were incorrectly labelled.

So apologies for that, Lara and I tried to match the games with the payers.

I will read your feedback later if I get time.

Regards to all.

David
