There seem to be teams withdrawing from the first weekends becuase of a lack of hotel accommodation. Whilst this allows players who would otherwise play in the 4NCL to take part in Congresses sheduled for the same weekends, this is hardly good for the health of the league.
Is this Division Three/Four or just generally?
I understand for Div 3W that the hotel is fully booked for the whole season and there's no overspill nearby; this is going to be an issue if teams then book nearby hotels and their opponents withdraw, let alone what that does to the APA format
Probably the Daventry hotel then. I know when I was after an extra room 2-3 weeks before this weekend, I was told it was fully booked. Being added to the waiting list did work for me but a different matter if you are looking for rooms for 6 players at short notice though.

Yes, Daventry weekends 1-4 and Warwick weekend 5

Div 3W round 1 no Wessex A, Shropshire a board short, and the all Warks clash being played over 5 boards with a double default

Hopefully the team default was communicated in good time to the opposition.

MK Phoenix 2 the Sunday opponents had no clue till we arrived, so some unused hotel costs for us.

Our opponents lost a player to Covid. 1 of my team defaulted after a car breakdown. 2 players had their train sent back to London, had to uses different Trainline and a taxi just to arrive 40 mins late..

Which is strange considering Roger apparently knew in advance

It also brings into question what is going to happen with Wessex B in Div 3 East. Have they pulled out as well, which means Sussex Martlets 2 and MK Phoenix 1 need to be told so they can cancel their room bookings if necessary, or if they are allowed to play, what happens in regards to who can they field in the team.

Is it assumed that if an A team defaults a whole split weekend, the top 6 registered players are assumed to be named, or do all lower teams playing on a different week of the split weekend have to drop out?

As far as I can tell from the rules, the team should have submitted its team lists for both A and B team already, so presumably whichever six players they would have named for the A team match cannot be picked.

Yes, 9.6 says
For split weekends (when some divisions play on different weekends from others) team lists for squads with fixtures on both weekends must be submitted by the Thursday midnight immediately before the earlier of the two weekends. If subsequent amendments render the composition of a team or teams illegal, the Chief Arbiter may apply game point penalties to correct for any injustice caused.
Wessex A defaulted against MK Phoenix 2 and now Wessex B are due to play MK Phoenix 1; I suppose it made sense to schedule both matches for the Sunday of the 1st weekend

Does this mean Wessex players can now play for another team?

As an MK registered player all I have been told is Wessex have been relegated from Division 3 and that we have new opponents for Sunday.

Whether that means they will appear in Division 4 or have been withdrawn completely, I do not know. I assume the 4NCL Admin are trying to arrange a replacement team in Division 3 West before making an announcement, but many thanks to them for arranging a replacement so quickly so that we don't have to worry about whether we have to cancel our hotel rooms elsewhere, as no MK players could get rooms at the venue itself.

Teams have been promoted to replace Wessex in both sections. I am grateful to those teams.

Wessex will be able to play in Division 4.

As the situation is still ongoing I will not comment further.

The draw is up for Div 4

Presumably someone can work out who is not in the draw and why
