ECF National Girls Championship Semi Final South entry

Post by Andrew Martin » Sun Jan 13, 2013 8:30 pm

I have had to modify the original list due to last-minute, frustrating dropouts.

34 teams of three are now signed up to Sunday's semi-final.

Lets hope there are no more changes to be made.

This is still a very good and encouraging turnout for an all-girls event.

Attending schools

St Catherine's x 6 teams

Guildford High x 1 team

Surbiton High x 1 team

Yateley Manor x 2 teams

Newcastle Prep x 1 team

Millfield x 1 team

Burnt Mill Academy x 1 team

King's School Canterbury x 1 team

St Marys Junior School, Cambridge x 2 teams

Nth London Collegiate x 3 teams in each section

Inglefield Monmouth x 1 team

St Dunstan's x 2 teams

Wimbledon High x 3 teams

Putney x 3 teams

Haygrove x 1 team

Notre Dame x 2 teams

We look forward to an exciting and well-contested event!

Andy,
Agreed it is a very good turnout. Is it possible to know how many teams are U11 and how many U19?

Not with any certainty until they all turn up. The list has already changed slightly since last night

I reckon the ratio is something like 60-40 in favour of the U11, but as I am away from my desk, that's an educated guess.

I had expected the distribution to be more skewed towards the younger age group. Again, I think that is a good result.

Tournament still ON as of Friday afternoon 3pm. I have sent out an email to all participating schools.

If there are any changes tomorrow I will post on here immediately after alerting participants.

I am optimistic that we will go ahead.

Please note modifications to the entry list, as 5 teams have dropped out this morning.

The event is still on. All major roads in the area are clear of snow and ice.

We are considering shortening the games to 20 mins each, which would enable the event to finish at 3.30pm. This will help everyone commence homeward journeys in the light.

Can I have views on this over the next hour and then a decision will be made, once we have set up.

Thanks, Andrew
