Is it just me, or does "Blowers" not knowing the score, the name of the bowler, the name of the batsman, the name of the fielder, the name of the wicket-keeper, the batsman's score, the size of the partnership, the team's score, the number of wickets fallen, &c, get a little grating at times?

The important thing is that there's a white bus gleaming in the sun on its way down the Loughbrough Road.

Blowers has just been confusing 6s and 8s though. To be fair, he thought the scoreboard had already updated, but it hadn't.

I'm not too surprised he didn't walk. Sport has become very professionalised nowadays that for the most part, sportsmanship is almost non-existent. Snooker has recently had more than one occasion where someone didn't call a foul on themselves, footballers constantly dive, rugby players like to squeeze and gouge what they can and in baseball it is almost a badge of honour if you have deceived the umpires to your advantage.

For the rest of the series, no batsman is ever going to walk - a sad byproduct.

The sad thing is that we will bowl Australia out for 150 and if he walked it wouldn't have made a difference to the result!

Broad should have just taken the ball out of the guy's hand and said "they've come to see me bat, not you field" as he tossed it back to the blower. Then carried on.

The Aussies are partly to blame too.

They frittered their referrals away trying to get English batsmen out who weren't out. Then complain when they have no referrals left to use on a genuine case. They were playing the system too.

The umpiring has been pretty bad too. That decision was a shocker.

And what if Broad walked and we lost that Test and the Ashes by one Test? Would we all be slapping Broad on the back saying 'well done mate. We lost, but you were very sporting'? I don't think so.

I can't ever remember Waugh or Ponting walking.

It's great when you're at the game, whilst also listening to the radio. You basically get two games for the price of one Because a large amount of the time when he doesn't know what's going on he simply makes things up. But then not sure that's a sign of his age, he's probably always been like that.

Another superb knock by Bell and good support by Broad. You would normally expect a fourth innings chase of 311 to be too much, but you never know. There is a lot of time left in the game.
